In a move that could reshape the region’s energy landscape, Jinko ESS—a leading Chinese energy‑storage manufacturer and subsidiary of JinkoSolar—announced on 10 September 2026 that it has signed a distribution agreement with Europe‑based Innovative Efficient Solutions (IES) to supply its SunGiga G2 liquid‑cooled battery systems across the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The signing ceremony took place at Jinko ESS’s headquarters in Shanghai.
Jinko ESS has earned a reputation for delivering commercial‑industrial (C&I) and utility‑scale storage solutions that pair high energy density with integrated battery management and fire‑protection systems. Its SunGiga G2 line, available in 261 kWh and 520 kWh modules, is engineered for plug‑and‑play deployment and marketed as a safe, reliable, and resilient option for large‑scale storage.
Innovative Efficient Solutions, headquartered in Europe, has long served the renewable‑energy market across the Middle East and Africa. The firm specialises in turnkey energy solutions for C&I customers, offering a portfolio that includes solar PV, storage, and hybrid systems. IES’s local partner, Ruya Energy—a Yemen‑based renewable‑energy company that has operated in the region since 2020—is known for its project‑development expertise and extensive customer network.
Under the new agreement, IES will act as the authorised distributor for Jinko ESS products in the MEA region, handling sales, project development, implementation and after‑sales support for the SunGiga G2 systems. Ruya Energy will provide local market knowledge, regulatory navigation and on‑site service, leveraging its established relationships with industrial operators and utilities.
The SunGiga G2’s liquid‑cooling technology is particularly suited to the hot, humid, and saline environments common in the Middle East. By maintaining optimal cell temperature, the cooling system extends battery life and improves round‑trip efficiency. According to Jinko ESS technical data, the system can operate safely in temperatures up to 55 °C and in high‑humidity conditions, a critical advantage for projects in desert and coastal areas.
The deal comes as the MEA region expands its renewable‑energy capacity and seeks storage solutions to enhance grid stability and meet peak‑load demands.
